Johnny Franco, MD, FACS, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Beloit College and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. During his residency in plastic surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, Dr. Franco demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership, serving as chief resident. Driven by his commitment to excellence, Dr. Franco completed training at Chan Gung Hospital in Taiwan, with a focus on microsurgery, particularly in the context of cancer reconstruction. He then pursued a fellowship at Gent University Hospital in Belgium, specializing in breast reconstruction and fat transfer techniques. Dr. Franco's passion for education extends to his current role as clinical faculty at The University of Texas Dell Medical School. Additionally, he plays a pivotal role as a reviewer for publications such as the Aesthetic Journal and Annals of Plastic Surgery. His commitment is further demonstrated by his role as a host and instructor for courses at prominent annual meetings of organizations like ASAPS, ASPS and TSPS. Dr. Franco currently serves as the President of the Austin Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He is an active member of prestigious professional organizations, including the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
