James Smartt Jr., MD, is the CEO and co-founder of Pictoria, as well as a board-certified plastic surgeon, technologist, and investor in digital health and wellness companies. Dr. Smartt has broad experience in digital therapeutics and software development, including the groundbreaking Jackie—a photo-based communication tool designed to enhance the long-term benefits of aesthetic treatments. His experience spans both academic and private practice settings in reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, with residency and fellowship training in plastic and craniofacial surgery. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is a recipient of multiple research awards.
